Data care and governance
Aside our commitment toward sustainable cloud services, we are deeply convinced of the importance of data in our information era, and an ever-evolving digital landscape.
We prioritize rigorous data protection standards and adhere to the highest levels of information security, safeguarding privacy while fostering transparency and trust. To such extent, we created and keep on developing levv with 3 core data principles:
- Data protection (GDPR & related privacy regulations): whether the data we may process on your behalf contains personal data, we will ensure the maximum adherence to privacy principles, not only to make sure you’re compliant because we are compliant; but because we care about what you care about, and the personal data you may process could be our own personal data. Be sure we will treat it as such.
You will find further details more specifically related to Data protection in our Privacy Notice.
- Information security: whatever type of data we may process on your behalf, we will ensure state of the art information security requirements and principles (such as well-established and internationally recognised ISO guidelines). To make sure the 3 golden rules Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability regarding your data are aimed at as main priority.
We also aim at proposing a living document with reached milestones and verifications done in our infra and processes regarding Information security, based on a recognised ISO27001 requirements check list.
- Data sovereignty: being safe and compliant is very often proposed by other cloud actors. But this is usually done in one or several locations abroad, not to say outside EU, or even the continent. Our data centers are all exclusively located in Europe, more specifically in Belgium, and to date, in Brussels. This is like your hyper local organic grocery store, but for your data: you know where it’s heading to, and it’s very close from you.
Achieving complete sovereignty as an individual company comes with inherent limitations. Data sovereignty is not a binary state but rather exists along a continuum. Factors such as collaboration with third-party service providers, remote work, or international travel can all affect a company's level of data sovereignty. When possible, we chose the option that maximizes data sovereignty over data subordination.
