DevOps Engineer
About us
At levv, we're reimagining cloud computing for a sustainable future.
We believe the future of the digital ecosystem lies not in constant acceleration or the endless pursuit of new features. While others add layers of complexity that burden both developers and the planet, we choose a different path. We believe in conscious, measured progress.
By choosing simplicity over feature bloat, we free developers from the stress of endless configurations - because a lighter cloud means lighter minds, and that's where creativity truly flourishes.
About the Role
We’re looking for an innovative, skilled and thoughtful engineer to help us design, build and maintain cloud computing services grounded in sustainability and simplicity. In this role, you’ll contribute to shaping a cloud platform that empowers users to deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications with clarity and ease—not complexity. You’ll work closely with a small team where ideas move fast, and every contribution has a visible impact.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Design, implement and maintain core cloud services: such as container orchestration, storage solutions, networking components, and monitoring tools, written in Go and based on Kubernetes.
- Implement and maintain user interfaces: Create and maintain command-line tools and APIs to launch container-based applications and to manage cloud resources and integrations.
- Optimize for performance and sustainability: Continuously improve the efficiency of our cloud platform, reducing latency, optimizing resource allocation, and minimizing environmental impact.
- Enable analytics and reporting: Develop and maintain tools to analyze platform usage, track system health, and generate insights for internal stakeholders. Support visualization of data for metrics such as service adoption, resource consumption, and user satisfaction.
- Design, implement and maintain computing infrastructure: firewalls, switches, and servers are part of your stack.
- Balance teamwork and autonomy: you’ll collaborate closely with others, but also know how to work independently, take ownership of your scope, and move things forward without waiting for instructions.
Skills You’ll Need to Bring
- Proven experience: 3+ years of experience building products
- You have experience with
- Containers and Kubernetes
- Networking: firewalls, DNS, gateways
- Linux System Administration
- Team mindset: you enjoy collaborating with teammates and users to identify real needs and shape solutions that align with levv’s objectives and enhance user experience.
Nice to Have
- You are proficient with key parts of our tech stack: Golang, Kubernetes, Ceph
- You know that not every problem needs a technical solution—and that some challenges are best met through collaboration, process, or rethinking the question entirely.
What we offer
At levv, we’re building a different kind of company—one that puts people, purpose and sustainability first. If you’re the right person, we’ll shape a role and a work arrangement that fits your life and aspirations.
- A purposeful mission: be part of a project that matters—for developers, for the planet, and for the future of tech.
- Built on steward-ownership: levv is steward-owned—this means no shareholders chasing profit, and a clear commitment to staying mission-driven in the long term. Learn more at steward-owned.be.
- Learning is part of the job: you don’t need to master every part of our stack from day one—we invest time and resources into helping each team member grow.
- Young, open-minded team: we’re a small but dynamic crew—curious, driven, and always open to new ideas.
- Freedom to innovate: bring your creativity. Whether it's a technical solution, a new tool, or an interior-design suggestion, your input matters.
- Clear and fair contracts: no fine print, no hidden traps. We use ethical, collaborative agreements with transparency and trust at their core.
- A fair and transparent salary: we’re a startup, so we don’t promise Silicon Valley numbers—but we do offer fair, honest compensation that reflects your skills, your time, and the value you bring.
Ready to help reshape the cloud for a more sustainable future? Send us your CV — along with a short letter* that captures who you are — to hello@levv.io
*The person we hire will play a central role in our small team. This position goes beyond technical skills — it requires a genuine desire to contribute to a meaningful project that’s still in the making. Since we care as much about how we work together as about what we’re building, we’re looking for someone with whom collaboration will feel natural and human. In your cover letter, we invite you to write in a natural and personal way: tell us who you are, what drives you, and what you're looking for. There’s no need for corporate language or polished clichés—we’d rather read something sincere that lets us get to know the person behind the CV.
