One year of sustainable cloud in Brussels: levv celebrates the first anniversary of its innovative datacenter
Brussels, July 31, 2025 – Did you know that in Brussels, levv has been operating for a year a datacenter that ranks among the most energy-efficient in terms of Power Usage
Effectiveness (PUE)? A datacenter that uses zero water, drastically reduces energy
consumption, and heats social housing with the heat generated by its servers.
Since summer 2024, levv has been rethinking the foundations of the cloud. Its first datacenter, located in Brussels, has now been operational for one year. It proves that digital infrastructure can meet our growing data needs while adopting a circular, resource-efficient model.

•0 liters of water used for server cooling
•Significant reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional solutions •Outstanding PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) between 1.09 and 1.11 (top 1% worldwide, global average is 1.56)
•Heat recovery used to produce hot water in social housing, in partnership with the Foyer Schaerbeekois
•No major incidents during the first year of operation

A first year marked by continuous improvement
In just one year, levv has already optimized its cooling system to improve heat transfer between the servers and the water, keeping the servers cooler and the water hotter thanks to a pump
replacement. Other improvements are being tested: new cooling liquids, a more modular design for the immersion cooling system — always in line with levv’s commitment to lightweight design and continuous improvement.
